About Us

Melbourne Low Carb Clinic grew from my own health transformation and a growing belief that healthcare should do more than manage disease — it should help people understand why they are unwell and what they can do to change the trajectory of their health.

My Journey

My journey began in 2017, when I started questioning what I could do to improve my own long-term health.

I changed the way I ate, discovered low-carbohydrate nutrition and started running with Couch to 5K. What began as a personal experiment became a complete transformation in the way I thought about health.

I went from struggling to run to completing parkruns, half marathons, two full marathons and the Oxfam 100 km Trailwalker. Along the way, I became increasingly fascinated by metabolic health and the profound effects that our everyday lifestyle choices can have on how we feel and age.

That journey changed the way I practise.

From Low Carb to Prescribing Lifestyle

I began incorporating low-carbohydrate nutrition into my clinical work in 2019 and founded Melbourne Low Carb Clinic in 2022.

But my philosophy has continued to evolve.

Nutrition is incredibly important, but food is only one part of the picture. Today, my approach encompasses nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, breathing, community, mindset and our everyday habits.

This philosophy became Prescribing Lifestyle — an approach centred around helping people understand the root causes of poor health and empowering them to make meaningful, sustainable changes.

I am now the author of three books, including Prescribing Lifestyle: A Doctor’s Prescription to Lasting Weight Loss and Vibrant Health, and host of the Prescribing Lifestyle Podcast, where I explore health, metabolic wellbeing, lifestyle and personal growth through conversations with a wide range of experts and guests.

Healthcare That Fits Into Your Life

Melbourne Low Carb Clinic has grown beyond a single consulting room.

I consult from multiple clinic locations across Melbourne, as well as offering telehealth consultations Australia-wide, making this approach accessible regardless of where you live.

Longer consultations allow us to explore your story, your health history and the lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your current health.

There is no one-size-fits-all prescription.

My role is not simply to tell you what to eat or give you another set of rules. It is to help you understand your body, become curious about your health and develop strategies that are realistic for your life.

My own journey taught me something that continues to shape everything I do:

Our health isn’t fixed. We can learn. We can change. And we are often capable of far more than we realise.

Because sometimes the most powerful prescription isn’t found in a pharmacy.

It’s found in the way we live.
